How to use SaltStick (Athletes)
Each person's nutritional needs are unique, and it's best to develop a plan that offers the right balance for you. As a general guideline, athletes may benefit from taking:
Every 30-60 minutes during endurance activities OR:
- 1 x serving of SaltStick DrinkMix combined with 475-600ml of water
Every 60-90 minutes during endurance activities
Travel & Alcohol
When we travel, we are particularly susceptible to dehydration, for a few reasons. First, our routines are broken up, so we may not instinctively drink enough water or consume similar foods that would normally keep us hydrates. Second, humidity levels inside planes are extraordinarily low, which is naturally dehydrating, especially if you consume alcohol or caffeine.
Alcohol is a diuretic, which when consumed in excess can quickly make you dehydrated, and a hangover is the result of its negative effects on the body. Some of these symptoms like nausea directly result from the disruption of cellular processes, while others, such as dizziness, fatigue and headaches, are more indirect and could be caused by dehydration.
